Itinerary

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at approximately 5:00 a.m. and transfer you to Ollantaytambo. There, we will board the local train to Aguas Calientes, enjoying breathtaking landscapes along the way!

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, our guide will be waiting to take you to the bus station. We will then board a bus that will take us to the entrance of this majestic Inca city.

You will have two hours to explore the archaeological site with our professional guide, who will explain the significance of these incredible constructions. The Incas designed a sustainable, well-planned city atop the mountains, demonstrating their deep connection with nature. Among their many engineering feats, they developed an advanced water distribution system using stone canals.

At the end of the visit, we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy lunch at a restaurant of your choice (lunch not included).

At approximately 2:55 p.m. (subject to availability), we will board the return train to Ollantaytambo. Please note that this schedule may vary. After two hours on the train, we will arrive in Ollantaytambo and take a bus back to Cusco. Overnight stay in Cusco.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT MACHU PICCHU ENTRY REGULATIONS

  • Visitors are allowed a maximum stay of 2 hours inside Machu Picchu.
  • A guide is required for the first entry.
  • If you wish to re-enter Machu Picchu in the afternoon or the following day, you must purchase an additional entry ticket in advance.
  • No tickets are sold at the archaeological site.

LUGGAGE RESTRICTIONS FOR THE TRAIN TO MACHU PICCHU

  • Carry the same identification document you provided at the time of booking, as train and entrance tickets will be issued with the same information.
  • Only hand luggage (backpack, handbag, or small suitcase) up to 5 kg (11 lb) is allowed on board.
  • Larger luggage must be stored at your hotel in Cusco.
  • Allowed dimensions: 157 cm (Height + Length + Width).

  • For those trekking the Inca Trail or the Quarry Trail, accommodation will be in campsites with basic facilities. Undoubtedly, this experience is not just about reaching the final destination (Machu Picchu) but about the incredible journey itself.
  • According to Machu Picchu’s visiting regulations, all visitors must follow a pre-determined route within the site in a single direction. Once the guided tour begins, exiting and re-entering the site is not permitted. After the guided visit concludes, visitors must leave the site, and personal exploration of Machu Picchu is not allowed. Please refer to the Itinerary for more details.
  • Travelers who choose different ways to reach Machu Picchu (Inca Trail, Quarry Trail, or Train) will not follow the same routes within the site. This means that you may not be able to take photos together overlooking Machu Picchu, whether traveling on the same booking or separate bookings.
