Visit to the Local area of Pisaq where you will visit the colorful Pisaq Market and it’s impressive Inca town, surrounded by the never ending Farming terraces throughout the whole Valley The Living Inca Town of Ollantaytambo, and at the end of the tour we will spend two days at the magical, mystical and amazing Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.

This tour offers something for all ages, starting with a visit to the Peruvian Amazon to experience its unique wildlife and flora. Then, explore Cusco’s colonial and Inca architecture, followed by custom tours to the Sacred Valley, including Pisaq’s market and archaeological site, and the living Inca town of Ollantaytambo. The tour concludes with two days at the mystical Machu Picchu.

Arrive to Lima from overseas.
After the International flight from Home you will arrive in Lima, where our representative will be waiting for you and transfer you to your hotel.
Stay overnight at Hotel Casa Andina Miraflores, or Similar.

After a morning transfer to the airport, for a flight to Puerto Maldonado. Arrival and Reception by our biologists guides, tourism professionals, or community members. Here we drive 20 kilometers to the Tambopata River Port, entering the Native Community of Infierno, for a boat ride of forty five minutes to Posada Amazonas will take us into the Community´s Primary Forest Private Reserve.

Orientation Upon arrival, the lodge manager will welcome you and brief you with important navigation and security tips. A twenty minute walk from Posada Amazonas leads to the 30 meter scaffolding canopy tower.

A banister staircase running through the middle provides safe access to the platforms above. From atop you obtain spectacular views of the vast expanses of standing forest cut by the Tambopata River winding through the middle.

Now and then toucans, parrots or macaws are seen flying against the horizon, or mixed species canopy flocks land in the treetop next to you. Overnight at Posada Amazonas.

This is a day full of activities at firsts you will visit Tres Chimbadas Oxbow Lake, is thirty minutes by boat and forty five minutes hiking from Posada Amazonas. Once there you will paddle around the lake in a catamaran, searching for the resident family of nine giant river otters (seen by 60% of our lake visitors) and other lakeside wildlife such as caiman, hoatzin and horned screamers.

Otters are most active from dawn to eight or nine AM. After Lunch The ethno botanical Tour a twenty minute boat drive downriver leads you to a trail designed by the staff of the Centro Ñape.

The Centro Ñape is a communal organization that produces medicines out of forest plants and administers them to patients who choose their little clinic.

They have produced a trail which explains the different medicinal (and other) uses of selected plants. Optional after diner the night walk You will have the option of hiking out at night, when most of the mammals are active but rarely seen.

Much easier to find are frogs with shapes and sounds as bizarre as their natural histories. Overnight at Posada Amazonas.

On today’s itinerary we have our visit to the Parrot Clay Lick This clay lick is only a twenty minute walk from Posada Amazonas. From a blind located about twenty meters away you will see dozens of parrots and parakeets descend on most clear mornings to ingest the clay on a river bank. Species such as Mealy and Yellow- headed Amazon, Blue-headed Parrot and Dusky headed Parakeet descend at this clay lick.

The clay lick active is at dawn, during the late mornings and mid-afternoons after this the Ceiba Trail Hike, after lunch we leave from the lobby at Posada Amazonas and embark on a two hour hike crowned by the largest tree in the vicinity: a giant Ceiba tree.

During the hike we will focus on the natural history of the rain forest and its principal taxonomic groups. Optional farm visit a 30 minutes boat ride downriver takes us to the farm in the community of Infierno

The owner grows a diverse variety of popular and unknown Amazon crops. In his garden, just about every plant and tree serves a purpose. Overnight at Posada Amazonas.

Finally after your memorable visit to the Peruvian Amazon you will be transport to the Airport at Puerto Maldonado, depending on airline schedules, this may require dawn departures so that you can take your connecting flight to Cusco, (11,023 ft.) Capital of the Inca Empire. Airport pickup and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax, and acclimatize to the altitude, feel free to enjoy the charming city of Cusco and visit the suggested Museums. Overnight at Casa Andina Private Collection Hotel or similar.

After breakfast at the Hotel, you will have a morning guided tour to visit the historic sites of Cusco, the colonial Cathedral and the impressive Santo Domingo Church. We will then transfer you to the nearby Archeological sites of Sacsayhuaman with its megalithic stone Walls; Qenqo, with its carved stone surfaces and subterranean altars; and the water temple Tambo Machay. Drive back to your hotel in Cusco. Stay overnight at the Hotel Casa Andina Private Collection, or similar.

This will be a long guided excursion journeying through the magnificent Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our first stop will be at the llama farm, here you will have the chance to admire the different species of South American Camelot Such us Llamas, Alpacas, and Vicuñas.

After which we will make a short stop at the Taray view point from where we will take pictures of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Along the way, your tour guide will take you past Inca terracing that climbs steep valleys into Pisaq another amazing Inca City.

After our visit to the archeological site, we will have time to explorer the traditional and colorful Market of Pisaq, one of the best textile markets in the Andes.

There we will have lunch and then take a beautiful walk through the Sacred Valley. The next stop is Ollantaytambo at 9,200 ft. This is a small town with impressive Inca remains.

Stay overnight at the Hotel Pakaritampu, or similar.

Morning transfer to Ollantaytambo train Station, where you will take the train ride to the Machu Picchu town. The scenery during the ride down the Urubamba Valley changes from mountain vegetation to cloud forest. Arrival at the train station after 2 hours of a train ride. transfer to the Hotel and Check in. After we will have free time for Lunch.  Afternoon Guide tour to Machu Picchu.

We will take a half hour bus ride that will bring you to the mountain citadel of Machu Picchu.

Once here, your Guide will give you an afternoon guided tour at the Citadel, return to Aguas Calientes town by bus at time of your choice. Stay overnight in the town of Aguas Calientes, at El Mapi Hotel or similar.

On our second day at Machu Picchu we will have the opportunity to climb to the famous Wayna Picchu peak or the Sacred Machu Picchu peak for a perfect view of the entire Inca City, Lunch at the town of Aguas Calientes before the train ride back to the Sacred Valley and Cusco. Overnight stay at Casa Andina, Private Collection or Similar.

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Lima and home.

  • Travelers who choose different ways to reach Machu Picchu (Inca Trail, Quarry Trail, or Train) will not follow the same routes within the site. This means that you may not be able to take photos together overlooking Machu Picchu, whether traveling on the same booking or separate bookings.
