The walk to Huchuy Qosqo is another one-day tour in which you can enjoy not only the natural landscape of the place but also a path not so visited by tourists which makes it special. On the way you will travel part of the famous Qapac Ñan, or network of Inca roads, which will take you to Huchuy Qosqo which translates as little Cusco. Located at the top of a mountain in the Sacred Valley of the Incas with an imposing view of this beautiful Valley, it is approximately an eight-hour tour. Once in Huchuy Qosqo we will provide you with your lunch and then we will descend to the town of Lamay, where after this beautiful walk we will return to Cusco.

After breakfast at your Hotel, your guide together with your driver will pick you up
In the lobby of your hotel and in a private van you will be transferred to the start of the hike. The excursion to Huchuy Qosqo will take us to one of the preserved Inca Trails and breathtaking views, as well as the opportunity to learn about local farming techniques and explore some little-visited Inca ruins.
The route travels well above Cusco and the peripheral city of Chinchero until it reaches the town of Tauca at 3850 meters above sea level. The tour will last approximately 8 hours, we will begin with a steep climb of more or less two hours to reach the highest point of the walk, the Tauca pass at 4200 MSNM. The highest pass in the area, a beautiful view of the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the imposing snow-capped hills such as Pumahuanca and Chicon. We will rest to take some photos. Then the rest of the terrain of the day is flat or downhill, passing herds of llamas and alpacas. The walk goes through the rustic town of Pucamarca. You will arrive at a particularly picturesque place to enjoy a picnic lunch or a snack. Continuing, the outline of the high ridge takes you to the entrance doors of Huchuy Qosqo and the incredible agricultural terrace. We will visit the place for a time of one hour and then we will descend towards the sacred valley of the Incas all the way down with some unique views,
Until we reach the town of Lamay. Here our driver will be waiting for us to bring us back to Cusco and return you to your hotel.

- According to Machu Picchu’s visiting regulations, all visitors must follow a pre-determined route within the site in a single direction. Once the guided tour begins, exiting and re-entering the site is not permitted. After the guided visit concludes, visitors must leave the site, and personal exploration of Machu Picchu is not allowed. Please refer to the Itinerary for more details.
- Travelers who choose different ways to reach Machu Picchu (Inca Trail, Quarry Trail, or Train) will not follow the same routes within the site. This means that you may not be able to take photos together overlooking Machu Picchu, whether traveling on the same booking or separate bookings.
