Recommendation

Here are some recommendations for the Cusco-Machu Picchu & Colca Canyon Tour:

Acclimatize to the Altitude: Since Cusco is located at 11,023 feet (3,400 meters), it's important to take it easy on the first day to avoid altitude sickness. Drink plenty of water and consider taking coca tea to help your body adjust.

Pack Light but Smart: You’ll be traveling through various climates, so pack lightweight clothing for the Amazon and warmer layers for the Andean highlands. Don’t forget comfortable walking shoes for the hikes and Machu Picchu!

Stay Hydrated: Whether you’re exploring the Colca Canyon or hiking in the Sacred Valley, it’s essential to stay hydrated, especially at higher altitudes.

Bring a Camera: The landscapes, wildlife, and archaeological sites are incredible! Be sure to bring a camera to capture the stunning views, especially during the Condor flight in Colca Canyon and the breathtaking scenery at Machu Picchu.

Respect Local Cultures: Peruvians are friendly and welcoming, but it’s always important to be respectful of local customs and traditions, especially in Andean villages and sacred sites.

Bring Cash: While credit cards are accepted in most places, it’s a good idea to carry some cash (Peruvian Soles) for smaller purchases or tips, especially in remote areas like the Sacred Valley.

Sun Protection: The sun can be intense, especially in the Andean highlands. Be sure to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat to protect yourself from UV rays.

Prepare for Early Mornings: Many activities, such as visiting Machu Picchu and observing the Condors at Colca Canyon, require early starts. Be ready to embrace the early mornings for the best experiences!
