Itinerary
DAY 01: CITY TOUR
Meals Included: 01 Breakfast
We will begin our day with a transfer from your hotel to QORICANCHA (the Sun Temple) where we will visit the most important Inca site found within the city of Cusco. Here you can witness the incredible engineering and architecture that were utilized to build this site.
After finishing our visit to Qoricancha, we will visit the the Cusco Cathedral, which is considered the most important Catholic church in the city. Here we will find the best of Cusco’s Colonial art (paintings and canvases), including the famous “Last Supper” canvas. From here we will head to the upper part of Cusco in order to visit the Inca archeological sites of Sacsayhuaman and Qenqo. When finished we will head back to our hotel where our tour for the day ends.
DAY 02: SACRED VALLEY (PISAQ – OLLANTAYTAMBO) – MACHU PICCHU

We will head towards the North-East from Cusco making some stops along the way at some lookout points in order to take in the beauty of the inter-Andean valleys. In addition, we will also have the opportunity to see South America’s 04 camelids (llamas, alpacas, vicuñas and guanacos) as well as learn about the use of alpaca fibers in the making of incredible weavings with intricate designs.
After this we head towards the Inca archeological site of Pisac where we will enjoy incredible views of the valley and of the Inca architecture and engineering used here. Finishing our visit we will descend to the town of Pisac where we will visit the local artisanal market. While here, you can find handicrafts and even visit specialized silver jewelers to see how they transform the metal into beautiful pieces of jewelry.
When we are finished we will then head towards Urubamba in the center of the Sacred Valley where we will stop for lunch (not included).
In the afternoon we will head towards the living Inca city of Ollantaytambo where we will find various temples, channel systems, and Inca architecture and engineering. We will then board our train from Ollantaytambo where we will take a 1 ½ hour train ride to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night.
DAY 03: MACHU PICCHU VISIT – RETURN TO CUSCO

On this day our activities will begin early. We will start with breakfast in our hotel and then head out to the bus station where, after a short wait, we will board our bus that takes us up to the Machu Picchu citadel. Once there, we will have a 02 hour guided tour and time for photos. After we leave the archeological complex we will board our bus to head back town to Aguas Calientes in order to have lunch (not included). Finally, we head towards the train station in order to catch our train back to Ollantaytambo. From here, we will head back via bus to Cusco where we will leave you in your hotel.
DAY 04: TOUR MARAS – MORAY – CHINCHERO (From 8:30AM to 3:30PM)

This morning our transportation will pick us up at 8:30AM and guide us North-East of the city of Cusco. Along the way we will make some stops in order to properly observe the snow-capped mountains of CHICON (5530 m), VERONICA (5735 m), and SALKANTAY (6271) before continuing on our journey towards the CHINCHERO archeological complex. In Chinchero we will first visit an artisanal center where local women will show us the different weaving techniques they use with both alpaca and sheep’s wool as well as teach us about their dying process with natural colors made from local herbs, seeds, flowers, mineral, and insects such as the cochineal.
We will then visit the archeological complex of Chinchero, such as the colonial church that was built overtop of the Inca walls. From this point you can see the incredible landscapes that surround the area. From here we will then head to MORAY. Here we will find circular Inca terraces that were built over a natural depression in the area and used for climatizing different varieties of plants. Lastly, we head to the natural salt mines of MARAS where we will visit the famous salt mines that the ancient Andean people (such as the Incas) utilized before heading back to Cusco.
Day 05: CUSCO – RETURN TO LIMA
Meals Included: 01 Breakfast
We will have a transfer from our hotel to the airport in Cusco in order to board your domestic flight back to the city of Lima where you will then board your international flight home.
