Description
Travel in private transportation across the arid Peruvian coast, revel in the natural Paracas Reserve where you can see coastal birds and the Humboldt penguin, and fly over the enigmatic Nazca Lines. On this tour you will visit the most important Inca sites throughout the Andes as well as the grand citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the 7 New Wonders of the World. Your journey to Peru will be finalized visiting the highest navigable lake in the world where you will find the unique and famous floating islands of Taquile as well as the Sillustani burial tombs.

Itinerary
DAY 01: ARRIVE TO LIMA
Included Meals: 01 Breakfast
Arrive to Lima during the day and take the airport transfer to the included hotel of your choice. The rest of the day is free to explore the capital of Peru. In the evening we will organize a meeting in the hotel reception where we will provide more detailed information about your trip. The time of this meeting as well as the list of documents that you will need to bring with you can be found in the hotel reception together with a welcome letter for all group members.
DAY 02: LIMA-PARACAS-BALLESTAS ISLANDS-NAZCA LINES FLIGHT
Included Meals: 01 Breakfast
We will depart from Lima towards the South early in the morning. Along the way we will take note of the arid climate of the Peruvian coastline. After about 3 ½ hours travelling we will arrive to the Paracas Bay where we will check-in to our hotel. From here we will take a shared tour of the Ballestas Islands (50 minutes) during which we will see sea lions, guano birds such as the guanay, pelicans, and Humboldt penguins (the only ones that can be found on Peruvian territory).
After our tour of the Ballestas Islands we will go via minivan to the Pisco Airport where we will fly over the enigmatic Nazca Lines (55 minutes). On the flight we will see the stylized figures of the monkey, whale, condor, spider, humming bird and more.
Once we are finished with our flight we will return to our hotel to rest.
DAY 03: PARACAS – HUACACHINA – LIMA

After enjoying breafast at our hotel we will continue our journey via minivan towards to the South in order to visit the local vineyards and distilleries. Here we will learn about the process of making Pisco, a spirit with a grape base that is utilized in the famous PISCO SOUR, Peru’s national drink. After this visit we head towards the Huacachina Oasis where we will tour the sand dunes using sand dune buggies as well as partake in sandboarding.
Finishing our excursion we will have time for lunch and then return to our hotel (4 hours) in order to rest.
DAY 04: FLIGHT LIMA TO CUSCO – URUBAMBA (SACRED VALLEY)

Today we will have a transfer from our hotel to the Lima Airport where we will board our flight to the city of Cusco. This flight lasts approximately one hour.
Once in Cusco we will board our minibus that will take us North-East of the city. We will make occasional stops along the way in order to take in the beauty of the inter-Andean valleys. We will also be able to see the 04 South American camelids along the way (llamas, alpacas, vicuñas and guanacos) and learn about the alpaca fibers used to create intricate weavings and designs. We will continue our descent to the town of Pisac, located on the shores of the Urubamba River. Here we will visit the traditional, artisanal market where we can find handicrafts as well as visit the specialized silver jewelers who turn the material into astonishing charms and drop pieces. After this we will take time for lunch (not included) and after which we will take our minibus to the town of Urubamba to check-in to our hotel and rest. (Dinner not included)
DAY 05: SACRED VALLEY TOUR – MARAS – MORAY – OLLANTAYTAMBO

In the morning, after breakfast, we will visit the archeological site of OLLANTAYTAMBO, one of the architectonic jewels that can be found in the Sacred Valley. The town of the same name is a living Inca city due to the fact that its inhabitants still utilize the streets, walls, aquaducts, and irrigation channels of the Incas. We will visit the archeological complex where we will find excellent Inca architecture and engineering.
We will continue on our journey towards the archeological site of MORAY where we will take in the circular, terraced construction that was built over a natural depression in the area and was utilized for cultivating a variety of different plants. After this, we will head towards the MARAS salt flats that were utilized by ancient Andean people such as the Incas. Finally, after this visit we head back to our hotel to rest.
DAY 06: TRAIN TO MACHU PICCHU – TOUR MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Today we will leave the hotel very early in order to head to the Ollantaytambo train station where we will board our train that will take us on a 1 ½ hour journey to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival to the station (Aguas Calientes) we will board our bus that takes us up towards the Machu Picchu citadel. Machu Picchu was chosen as one of the 7 New Wonders of the World in 2007 and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983.
This enigmatic Inca city was considered one of the most important religious sanctuaries of its time. It is also considered one of the most important, man-made, architectonic jewels of the Americas, famous for the urban planification and advanced engineering implemented here. All of that in addition to the incredible landscape around it make it one of the most visited sites in this part of the Americas.
Here we will have a 02 hour guided tour where you will be able to explore all of the different, important sections of this Inca city. Once we are finished we will head towards the exit in order to catch our bus to take us back down to Aguas Calientes where we will have lunch (not included). After lunch we will go back to the train station and board our train that will take us to Ollantaytambo. From there, we travel via bus to the city of Cusco.
DAY 07: CUSCO – CITY TOUR – FREE AFTERNOON

In the morning we will take in all of the attractions that Cusco has to offer on our guided tour exploring the Inca streets and visiting the San Pedro Market, the Qoricancha temple, and the Sacsayhuaman and Qenqo archeological sites. We will then return to Cusco for lunch and you will have a free afternoon to explore the city on your own accord.
DAY 08: CUSCO – PUNO
Meals Included: 01 Breakfast, 01 Lunch
We will leave the city of Cusco towards the Peruvian plateau via minibus. This journey will last approximately 07 hours. Along the way we will stop at the archeological site of Raqchy which is dedicated to the spiritual god of the Incas. We will then continue our journey towards “La Raya”, the dividing point between Cusco and the department of Puno, a city on the border of Peru and Bolivia. Puno is famous for its celebration dedicated to the Virgen of Candelaria whose feast day is in the month of Februrary. Puno is considered the folkloric capital of Peru and is where we find the highest navigable lake in the world, TITICACA.
Once in Puno we will arrive directly to our hotel for check-in and then rest. There are various dining options available in the city of Puno for dinner (not included).
DAY 09: UROS ISLANDS – SILLUSTANI BURIAL TOMBS
Meals Included: 01 Breakfast
In the morning we will leave our hotel and head towards the Puno lake port where we will board a motor boat to visit the UROS floating islands, unique in their kind in the world. For this excursion you will have a local, professional guide who will provide information about this interesting site. When finished with your visit we will head back to Puno and back to the hotel where you will have time for lunch (not included).
In the afternoon we will head to the pre-Inca and Inca burial tombs of Sillustani that can be found 45 minutes via bus outside of Puno. Here we will have a guided tour and then return from this beautiful site to our hotel to rest.
DAY 10: PUNO – JULIACA – LIMA
Meals Included: 01 Breakfast
Today we will have a transfer from our hotel towards the airport of JULIACA, which can be found about an hour away via bus from Puno. Here you will take your domestic flight back to Lima where you will have a free afternoon until 6PM where you will be picked up from your hotel for a goodbye dinner at a local restaurant. From here you will head to your hotel to rest.
DAY 11: TRANSFER HTL – LIMA AIRPORT – RETURN FLIGHT HOME

It is time to return home after exploring 10 days in Peru. Today you will have a transfer from your hotel to the Lima Airport in order to catch your return flight back home.
