Our adventure team will provide you with the best  tour service so that you can enjoy this walk, you will only carry a personal backpack with your clothes for rain, water, sun hat and camera.

MOLLEPATA:

The mountains of the Vilcanota mountain range rise forming a spectacular chain, located between two large rivers in the region of Cusco Urubamba and Apurimac along the north side of the mountain range.

The location of the snowy Salkantay is at the eastern, end of the chain and has a height of approximately 6,270 meters above sea level.

Mollepata is an attractive town built on a mountain slope in the upper part of the Apurimac, especially dedicated to agriculture and raising domestic animals.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

During this walk we will do an ascent through different ecological microclimates, for this you must be prepared for  changes of the climate and height in turn we recommend being in Cusco about 2 to 3 days before the start  the hike, to achieve a good acclimatization.

DAY 01

CUSCO-MOLLEPATA- HUAYRAQMACHAY

We will pick you up from the hotel at 4:00 in the morning to go by paved road to the town of Mollepata 2,950 (masl) on the way we will stop at the archaeological site of Tarawasi, an Inca Temple, then continue to Mollepata where we will appreciate the  Humantay snow capped mountain(5,917 masl), breakfast en route. Then we will board  the bus to SorayPampa, where we will begin the walk through the grasslands appreciating the  Salkantay  mountain 6,270 (masl), the whole hike is in ascent to the Soyro Cocha lagoon lunch, then 2 more hours of walk we will reach the Huayrapampa pass 4,800 masl, then descend to the community of Kelkamachay.

DAY 02

KELKAMACHAY – PLAYA

Different  day, this day we will descend and the weather varies because we are entering into the cloud forest, where you can see very lush vegetation, large waterfalls of approximately 80 meters and a variety of Orchids , share some experiences with residents of the camp site in the area called la playa.

DAY 03

PLAYA- PATALLACTA – AGUAS CALIENTES

Very early, we will begin the ascent by an Inca road to the archaeological site of Patallacta, from this area we will be able to appreciate a part of Machupicchu and mountain ranges of the jungle, then we will descend to the Hydroelectric sector where we will board the train to the town of Aguas Calientes (overnight in a hotel) according to itinerary.

DAY 04

AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHUPICCHU- CUSCO

Very early we will board the buses with direction to one of the 7 new wonders of the  world MACHUPICCHU , Where you will have a guided tour of the great Inca city for 2 hours,  At an indicated time you will board the bus to Aguas Calientes where you will have time to enjoy your lunch (not included) and then you must be on time at the train station to board the return train to ollantaytambo train station where you will have  a  representative of our company for your transfer to the hotel in Cusco.
