To begin our tour, transportation services will pick you up from your hotel in the city of Cusco at 8:30AM. Along the way into the Sacred Valley we will make a quick stop in order to see, observe the mountain peaks that are visible from this area such as PITUSIRAY, SAWASIRAY, CHICON, VERONICA and SALKANTAY. From here we will continue our journey toward the Chinchero archeological site where we will visit an artisanal center in which local women will teach us about the different weavings they make with both alpaca and sheep’s wool fibers. They will also teach us how they dye the wool utilizing distinct local herbs, seeds, flowers, minerals and even insects such as the cochineal.

After this brief stop we will visit and explore the archeological complex of Chinchero where we will see the Colonial church that was built directly over the base of an Inca wall. From here we will be able to observe the beautiful landscape that surrounds this site and will then continue on our journey towards the archeological site of MORAY.

Here we will find a construction of Andean terraces that were made in circular form over a natural depression found in the area that was utilized in order to cultivate a variety of plants. We will then head to the salt flats where we will find the salt mines utilized by ancient Andean settlers, such as the Incas. Finishing this visit we then head towards the town of Urubamba where we will have lunch.

In the afternoon we will visit the archeological complex of OLLANTAYTAMBO, one of the architectonic jewels of the Incas that can be found in the Sacred Valley. Here we will find a living Inca city due to the fact that the town’s modern inhabitants still utilize the original streets and intact Inca walls as well as the waterducts and irrigation channels found here. Finally, we will return to the city of Cusco where we will be dropped off at our respective hotels.
